Previously the record for most points in one quarter had been set at 33 by George Gervin and Carmelo Anthony, but what’s most impressive is that Thompson didn’t even start shooting until after the ten minute mark.
He also fired in nine three pointers, and broke the record for eight whilst doing so.
And if that wasn’t good enough he also went 13-for-13 in the third, and tied the record for field goals in a quarter set by David Thompson.
