Bird reacts to criticism aimed at him by Meninga after Origin III.
New South Wales’ Greg Bird has dared Queensland legend Mal Meninga to “run at him” after the Maroons coach accused him of making the most out of a clash with Nate Myles.
Myles was put on report for raising his forearm into Bird’s throat, which resulted in the Blues player rolling on the floor theatrically.
Meninga said in the post-match press conference that he believed Bird made a meal out of the contact.
“I didn’t see much in it to be honest with you,” Meninga said.
“It was an Oscar winning performance. He should have been at the World Cup for soccer.”
