Toronto Raptors guard Greivis Vasquez drained a clutch three with 25 seconds remaining against the Washington Wizards in Game 1 of their NBA playoffs series.
The Raptors began the game shooting poorly on the offensive end as the Wizards took control and built up a strong early lead in the series opener.
With his comments prior to the game ensuring that the home crowd booed him throughout, veteran Paul Pierce put on a show from beyond the arc to silence them through the second quarter as he hit shot after shot to help build the lead for visitors.
However, with a combination of Lou Williams and Vasquez in the back-court as starting point guard Kyle Lowry had fouled out, the Raptors came storming back to force overtime with their back-up guard producing an early contender for shot of the post-season.
John Wall was unable to win the game with the next possession for the Wizards, while Terrence Ross almost tipped in a winner for the hosts with just seconds remaining. The two teams headed for OT with an important result on the line which could have an impact on the rest of the series.
