Things can change quickly in football. Two weeks ago, Harry Kane was striving to rediscover his form. Tonight – his fifth goal in three games has put Tottenham Hotspur on track for a big Europa League win.
Spurs lead Anderlecht 1-0 after the first half at White Hart Lane thanks to an outstanding finish from Kane, who did not even need to look up at goal before thrashing emphatically into the bottom corner.

This type of instinctive effort from the 22-year-old proves that his confidence has definitely returned after a sticky start to the campaign in which he netted just once in 13 games for Spurs.
A hat-trick at Bournemouth and another against Aston Villa on Monday seem to have given Kane a much-needed boost, and he now appears close to the player who bagged a remarkable 31 goals last term.
Anderlecht had previously had Tottenham on the back foot, but a fine move involving Ryan Mason and Christian Eriksen opened them up, and Kane did the rest as Spurs finished the half strongly.
Victory would take Mauricio Pochettino’s side to the top of Group J with seven points from four games, one ahead of AS Monaco, who drew 1-1 with Qarabag this evening and visit North London last.
