No. 5 Alabama is on track to push themselves into the playoff map as they lead No. 1 Mississippi State, 19-3, at halftime. The Crimson Tide were able to extend their lead after an impressive catch by wide receiver Amari Cooper.
Cooper has established himself as a serious Heisman Trophy candidate, and he continued to do so with a 50-yard catch. Quarterback Blake Sims heaved the ball toward Cooper.
The Crimson Tide receiver caught the ball in double coverage at the one-yard line, and running back Derrick Henry finished the job with a one-yard touchdown run.
