First back-to-back wins to start a season for Richmond since 1997.
You would not find a more satisfied coach in the AFL right now than Richmond leader Damien Hardwick.
After surviving a hearts-topping clash with Carlton in the first round, Hardwick’s men backed up their performance with a gusty 17-point victory against St Kilda.
Jack Riewoldt was the star of the night in kicking seven against his cousin’s side, while Trent Cotchin and Brett Deledio racked up 31 and 27 possessions respectively.
In what was a see-sawing game, St Kilda never went away and always were close enough to spring the upset until the closing stages in front of more than 50,000 at the MCG.
But sparked by pressure around the ground, and some impressive marking skills by Luke McGuane, the Tigers head into their clash with the Western Bulldogs in round three full of confidence.
