Argentine forward enjoying a good run of form.
Columbus Crew’s captain Federico Higuaín scored his second brace in two games to give Columbus Crew a 2-0 victory over Toronto FC to win the Trillium Cup.
As with his two goals against New York Red Bulls, Higuaín’s second was a delightful chip from outside the area, giving a harsh reminder to MLS defences just why the Argentine cannot be allowed space around the box.
The win moves the Crew to 9 points clear of Toronto, who sit just below them in the league, although a playoff position is still a tough ask – they sit seven points behind fifth place Houston.
