Recognition for Popovich and his Big Three in particular…
The San Antonio Spurs continue to thrill the NBA with their brand of basketball, but a tribute video has been constructed which makes you appreciate them even more.
With coach Gregg Popovich overseeing the operation, his ‘Big Three’ of Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili have been the foundations of their team basketball for many years.
Despite changes in the roster, the Spurs have never wavered from their approach of ball movement and unselfish basketball which has kept them successful for well over a decade.
At the time of writing they have a 2-0 series lead over the Oklahoma City Thunder in the Western Conference Finals, and it is likely that many supporters of the NBA will be backing them to go all the way this year after the heartbreaking way in which their season ended last time round.
Popovich has preached fundamental basketball to his players for years, and their depth and style of play is a thing of beauty which will be sorely missed when the roster inevitably begins to break up through retirement.
Nevertheless, they continue to march on this year and will be fully focused on reaching their goal of winning a fifth NBA championship since 1999.
