Kings XI got off to a great start thanks to Saha, who hit 31 off 12 balls early on. Even the opener getting out didn’t slow them down, with Glenn Maxwell helping them to race to 46-1 from 3.4.
They continued at a quick pace through what were ostensibly the ‘middle’ overs of the ten over innings, with Maxwell, Miller, and Bailey all getting starts before getting out in the teens. However, with only 60 balls to face this was al that was needed, and the team carried on at over 10 an over until Bailey was out at 100-5 from nine overs. Axar Patel hit the second highest score with 20, before they finished on 106-6.
The Royal Challengers’ efforts started brightly, with a massive six from Chris Gayle getting them off to a great start. Virat Kohli also joined the party with this big hit.
However, it wasn’t to last, with Kohli going for 19 and leaving them 33-1 from the first 3 overs. Gayle fell shortly after for 17, leaving RCB 44-2 and relying on the talents of AB De Villiers to guide them to victory. However, the South African went cheaply as well for 10.
Mandeep Singh and Dinesh Karthik were left to keep the innings going, but this didn’t end well either and the Bangalore looked to be imploding. Karthik went for two and Mandeep shortly after for 20, leaving them needing 28 from the final over.
However, even the undoubted talent of Sarfaraz Khan wasn’t enough to do it. The 17-year-old even got out in the final over so they finished on 84-6.
