Major League Soccer team Toronto FC are widely expected to announce the double signing of AS Roma midfielder Michael Bradley and Tottenham Hotspur forward Jermain Defoe soon.
The release of two teaser videos to YouTube by the MLS strongly suggest that the big date will be Monday January 13th – each titled “It’s A Bloody Big Deal”.
Michael Bradley is the bigger coup for the Canadian outfit, as the Roma star is still just 26 years of age.
Given that he should be entering the prime of his career, it is a far cry from the retirement home image of the past for the MLS, and Bradley’s combative style will serve him well at Toronto FC.
In contrast, Defoe has not scored in the Barclays Premier League this season, and is now 31.
However, as the likes of fellow former Premier League forwards Juan Pablo Angel and Robbie Keane have proved, the Spurs star could well flourish in the MLS.
