DeGale has his own bitter rivalry with Groves, but is focused on his fight…
Ahead of the highly anticipated rematch on Saturday night, James DeGale has revealed that he hopes Carl Froch “knocks George Groves out” at Wembley.
DeGale features on the undercard as he takes on American star Brandon Gonzales with the winner expected to face either Froch or Groves later this year.
Having spent time in the wilderness, the Olympic gold medallist has revealed that he is excited about performing in front of 80,000 people and appears to be in a better frame of mind as opinion of him begins to change slightly after a more reserved build-up to a fight.
Nevertheless, while DeGale couldn’t decide on a winner at first given that he continues to change his mind and believes that the start to the fight will be key, he eventually reveals that he hopes Froch knocks his rival out.
However, all his focus will be on Gonzales first and he will hope to be able to celebrate a victory by heading out to ringside to watch the battle commence.
