DeGale featured as a ringside analyst on Sky Sports for ‘Collision Course’.
James DeGale has insisted that he has the utmost respect for Carl Froch, but that isn’t going to stop him from putting on the pressure to get him to fight him.
The 28-year-old was a guest analyst at ringside for ‘Collision Course’ in Liverpool for Sky Sports on Saturday night, with Froch later joining him to discuss the possibility of the pair getting in the ring some time in the future.
After defeating Brandon Gonzales in a final eliminator for the IBF title, a strap that Froch currently possesses, DeGale is a mandatory challenger and is expected to fight the champion before February 25.
However, Froch has made no secret of his desire to fight in Las Vegas against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and that ultimately continues to be his priority at the end of this year.
Nevertheless, that isn’t enough to put DeGale off in tempting the ‘Cobra’ into another domestic dust-up, and the Harlesden-born star is confident that he has both the ability and style to cause his rival all sorts of problems.
Promotor Eddie Hearn has DeGale scheduled for a fight at the O2 in London on October 11, but depending on the situation with Froch, that could all change as the 37-year-old may be forced to consider his options away from Chavez and fight DeGale in the second biggest fight out there for him.
