In Jacques Santini’s first game in charge of Tottenham in August 2004 the north Londoners were trailing the Reds 0-1 at White Hart Lane.
With less than 20 minutes to play Defoe received the ball in the box, swiveled on the spot and buried the ball past Jerzy Dudek. Santini would resign just 12 matches later.
