Ravens Quarterback Flacco praised Lewis’ passion, but admits they went a little too far at times.
Joe Flacco has admitted to NFL.com that he occasionally felt ray Lewis’ pre-game pep talks went a little over the top but were motivating nonetheless.
“Oh, it’s funny,” the Ravens Quarterback said.
“His speeches come from the heart, but there’s definitely times where I’m sitting there kind of chuckling to myself. It’s all good. There’s nobody that’s more passionate about what he does than that guy.
“So you just sit back and take it all in, but there’s times where he says some stuff and you’re like, ‘Man I don’t know what that meant, but I like how he said it.”
Ray Lewis will always be remembered for his passionate approach to the game and the speeches he gave before each and every game.
While this may be no Any Given Sunday ‘inch by inch’ rendition, these kind of speeches definitely have a positive impact on the players that are involved in them, and will remain a big pat of the game.
Judge for yourself if you think he does go too far and imagine if John Terry did the same before every Chelsea game:
