Chelsea have already had their first bid – worth £20m – for Everton defender John Stones rejected by the Toffees.
According to Sky Sports, Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho claimed that the Blues have not come up with a second offer yet.
Despite their lack of action lately, Mourinho remains confident in his team, according to this video.
In addition to his comments in the video, Mourinho insisted that signing Stones will not make or break Chelsea’s 2015-16 season.
“We don’t need other players, we trust these players,” Mourinho added.
Chelsea have plenty of cause for optimism, as they are coming off a Premier League title run.
However, the Blues recently endured a shocking friendly loss to the New York Red Bulls, which angered Mourinho.
He brushed it off with his comments on Chelsea being a top team though.
The Blues are still expected to possibly make a second bid for Stones though, as they are keen on adding one defender before they begin their next season.
Although Chelsea conceded the fewest number of goals out of all Premier League teams, they are hoping to upgrade their defence while adding youth, as Stones is only 21 years old.
