Matri gives Juventus the lead and look set for a Quarter Final spot.
After a bright start by Celtic, in which Kris Commons was a constant threat down the left wing, all of Celtic’s pressure was all undone in one fluid passing move in which the home team showed their class.
After being put through on goal, Fabio Quagliarella fired a shot at Fraser Forster who could only parry the ball into the path of Alessandro Matri who had a tap in from two yards.
While even the most optimistic Celtic fan was probably unsure that they would get the most unlikely of comebacks in football, this goal has put it to rest without any doubt. Celtic need to score four goals to get through, and that just seems impossible for any team, especially Celtic.
Fans will not just be hoping for a spirited performance, but to show that they do deserve to be in the competition, and a goal will send the travelling fans home happy.
