City went on to secure a 5-1 win over Palace to storm through to the quarter-finals of the Capital One Cup, with Yaya Toure converting a penalty to score his first goal at the Etihad since New Year’s Day.
Given the fact that both Arsenal and Chelsea were eliminated from the competition on Tuesday night, Manuel Pellegrini will undoubtedly fancy his side’s chances of making a deep run and potentially going on to feature in the final and lift the trophy at Wembley next year.
