Manchester City head coach Roberto Mancini has blamed injuries to key players for his side’s failed Premier League title defence this season.
The Italian, speaking after having watched the top-flight champions record an impressive 2-1 win at the home of arch-rivals Manchester United on Monday night, said that his team would have been much closer to runaway league leaders United but for the absence at certain times this campaign of the likes of Sergio Aguero, Yaya Toure and Vincent Kompany.
