Lille fail to make Europa League after a fiery affair only ended in a draw.
Lille were unable to beat St Etienne at home on the final day of the season to ensure Europa League football next season, after a fiery affair between the two sides ended in a 1-1 draw.
St Etienne occupied fourth spot, but having already qualified for Europe through the French Cup, they were playing for pride in this tie between fourth and fifth.
Kalou gave the home side a first half lead too, and Lille were looking in good shape to take all three points.
However Hamouma drew the visitors level on 59 minutes, and St Etienne grabbed a hard fought equaliser.
They were then reduced to 10-men after Guilavogui was given his marching orders for a second yellow card, but St Etienne were able to hold on for the point.
Lille fans will be left wondering what could have been, as they will have to do it all over again next season.
