Luis Alberto could start at the weekend against Southampton…
Liverpool’s summer signing Luis Alberto is knocking on Brendan Rodger’s door for a first team spot, after he bagged an impressive hat-trick for the Under-21 side against Sunderland.
The Spanish playmaker was prolific for Barcelona B last term, which encouraged Rodgers to shell out £6m to secure his services.
He can play up-front, but prefers to play in the hole behind the striker where he can use his creativity and passing ability to make chances for other teammates, too.
With Coutinho picking up a shoulder injury against Swansea on Monday evening, the young Spaniard could well be given a chance on Saturday against Southampton after his brilliant performance against Sunderland Under-21s on Tuesday evening.
