Rodgers focussed on his own team ahead of Spurs’ trip to Anfield.
Brendan Rodgers has insisted he is focussed on his own team – and not Gareth Bale – as Liverpool prepare to welcome the in-form Tottenham star to Anfield on Sunday.
The Liverpool boss admitted that his compatriot was a ‘phenomenal’ player on fine form but identified Spurs’ other winger Aaron Lennon as an equally menacing threat.
Rodgers was linked with Spurs before taking over on Merseyside but the former Swansea boss praised the work of Andre Villas-Boas at White Hart Lane, stressing that the Portuguese had shown ‘great character’ following his miserable spell in charge of Chelsea.
