England striker says he owes form to manager.
Daniel Sturridge says he owes his superb start to the season to Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers.
The England striker has bagged eight league goals so far this season and has thanked the man who brought him to Anfield.
“It’s been so much. I can’t thank him enough,” he told ESPN FC. “First and foremost for giving me an opportunity; also he talks to me a lot and tells me about my game, he’s pushing me and doesn’t let me rest on my laurels. I’m not the type of person to do that as I’m always critical of myself, but sometimes he tells me not to be so critical of myself.
“He wants me to improve, to constantly improve my game and never be content. That’s everything from the tactics, to listening to the manager, and he wants me to be on point all the time. For me that’s great to have a manager to understand me as a person and get along with.”
