Ukrainian winger Yevhen Konoplyanka has hinted that he could move to Liverpool in the summer.
The 24-year-old almost moved to Anfield in January, but a £15m deal couldn’t be finalised on transfer deadline day, much to the frustration of the buying club and the player himself.
Konoplyanka though has told Ukrainian TV that he’s supporting Liverpool in their title challenge, and still harbours dreams of eventually playing for the Premier League giants.
“Liverpool are challenging for the league in England. I’m supporting them. I want them to win it,” said the Ukrainian flyer,” he said.
“Yes, us and Rodgers talked a little bit to each other. The interest from Liverpool was very much serious.”
“It (interest) was serious. But now I’m thinking of it only as a dream, because we (Dnipro) are challenging for league.”
Tottenham though are also interested in his services, and could challenge Liverpool for his signature come the end of the season.
However, the added of incentive of playing Champions League football with the Reds may give Brendan Rodgers’ side the edge in the battle for his signature.
