Kings pull off surprise win as they silence the Clippers.
In perhaps the biggest shock in the NBA on Tuesday night, the Sacramento Kings sealed a surprise 116-101 win over the Los Angeles Clippers.
Loitering at the wrong end of the Western Conference, few would have predicted the Kings overcoming the current number four seed, but they did so, and comfortably.
Marcus Thornton led the way for Sacramento, scoring 25 points on 7-for-14 shooting, while his team were also boosted by the return of DeMarcus Cousins who along with Tyreke Evans had 17 points each.
However, it was Toney Douglas who had a huge impact off the bench to help seal the win late on, scoring 19 points and dishing out a team-high seven assists to see the Kings home.
The Clippers had a game-high 26 points from Blake Griffin, while Jamal Crawford went 7-of-12 shooting for his 25 points. Unfortunately for them, it wasn’t enough to stop the loss with Sacramento taking an unexpected victory.
