Memphis cut their series deficit with win and now trail the Clippers 2-1.
With the action shifting to Memphis for Game 3, the Grizzlies did not let their home support down as they sealed a 94-82 win over the Los Angeles Clippers to move within one in the series.
Zach Randolph had a game-high 27 points as well as 11 rebounds, while Marc Gasol supported him well with 16 points of his own.
The Grizzlies ability to use their big men proficiently inside the paint, as well as relying on arguably the best defence in the NBA, saw them overcome the Clippers at the FedEx Forum on Thursday night.
They edged out their opponents 45-33 on the boards, which effectively prevented the Clippers from getting out and running and playing at the fast pace that they prefer. Having snatched 17 offensive boards, Memphis led 22-4 in second-chance points.
The Clippers were led by Blake Griffin who finished with 16 points, but it was a quiet night for point guard Chris Paul who added just eight points and six assists.
Memphis will hope to tie the series when the two meet again on Saturday for Game 4.
