Clippers clinch first ever division title with season sweep of Lakers.
The Los Angeles Clippers sealed their first ever season sweep of the Los Angeles Lakers with their 109-95 win on Sunday.
In addition, the win ensured they clinched their first ever division title, enjoying some of the spotlight along with their more illustrious local rivals.
Blake Griffin and Chris Paul had 24 points apiece, while Jamal Crawford had a productive night off the bench adding 20 points of his own.
As for the Lakers, who slipped back out of the play-off spots in the Western Conference following the loss and Utah Jazz’s win, Kobe Bryant and Dwight Howard both had 25 points but ultimately it wasn’t enough on a disappointing night.
The Clippers continue their memorable regular season against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday, while the Lakers will be nervously looking to regain their footing in the race for eighth spot when they face the New Orleans Hornets on Tuesday.
