The song is a tribute to the Filipino people and the video essentially follows suit as it is a combination of Pacquiao training and fighting alongside montages dedicated to the struggle that his people go through in his homeland with the translation of the title being: “I Fight For the Filipino People”.
While Pacquiao has never shirked away from his responsibility to his countrymen and women given that he is also involved in politics, he has embraced the opportunity to involve them on May 2 by recording this song.
It is understood that the Filipino star directed the video too and so has clearly been a busy man over the last few weeks, but judging from all the training videos he has posted on social media, it hasn’t got in the way of his preparation for the biggest fight of his life.
Mayweather vs Pacquiao has been described as the biggest fight in boxing history, as the clash is expected to shatter all records before it in terms of revenue and viewing figures.
Critics continue to question whether or not it is too late for the bout to be taking place, but both men look sharp and determined in training camp and Pacquiao will certainly draw inspiration from this song as he makes his way to the ring on May 2 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
