The two teams were unable to break the deadlock prior to the half-time interval, although it was undoubtedly an entertaining 45 minutes as they both threatened on numerous occasions.
While Petr Cech was equal to everything that the visitors threw at him, it was Neuer who left the Emirates stunned as he denied Walcott despite the England international seemingly having the goal at his mercy.
Whether or not the Gunners will rue that missed opportunity remains to be seen, but having lost both of their two games in the Champions League so far this campaign, Arsene Wenger’s side are desperate to get off the mark with a win.
However, that is easier said than done with Neuer in top form and capable of producing stunning saves like that seen above, while the Bundesliga giants continue to look threatening when in possession as they look to make it three wins in as many games in Europe’s premier competition.
Meanwhile, Pep Guardiola has also guided the club to a perfect start to the domestic season, as they sit atop the Bundesliga table with nine victories in nine games, and so the hosts certainly have it all to do.
