Rossoneri manager speaks out ahead of Barca’s trip to San Siro.
AC Milan head coach Massimiliano Allegri has stated that the Rossoneri’s president, former Italy Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, does not pick the club’s starting line-up.
The Milan manager was speaking ahead of the first leg of the club’s Champions League last-16 clash with Barcelona.
“When we talk he expresses his ideas and thoughts, because after twenty-five years at Milan he knows football, being the most successful president of all,” Allegri said in his pre-match press conference.
“But I see the squad every day and I have given the guys my best advice on how to face Barcelona.”
“We have had many famous phone calls over the last two and a half years. I talk with the president twice a week, every week.
“As usual he asked me the line-up for the match, as always he expressed his thoughts and his ideas, consequently I accept what he tells me. I make my evaluations to try to send my best line-up onto the pitch to play against our opposition, Barcelona as any other team.”
