Woods finished with a 1-over 73 on the final day to tie with Sergio Garcia for 17th at 5-under.
The 39-year-old American hit a tree stump with a full swing on an approach shot and shook his arm in agony.
Woods told reporters that he was able to put the joint back into place to continue his round.
“It hurt. It definitely hurt,” Woods is quoted as saying by the Sydney Morning Herald.
“I told the guys in there that there was a little joint that popped out and I was able to somehow put it back in, which didn’t feel very good.
“But at least it’s back in and I could move my hand again.”
Replays don’t appear to show Woods pop anything back into place immediately.
Remarkably, Woods improved on the back nine following the injury scare to claim his best Masters finish since 2013.
