Mayweather fights put Pacquiao to sleep: Filipino says he hopes Floyd comes to fight.
Mayweather took to the podium in Los Angeles on Wednesday afternoon and discussed what he described as the “fight of the century”.
The 38-year-old added that the “whole world will stop” on May 2 as he finally enters the ring with his long-time rival as they look to settle the debate over who the pound-for-pound king of boxing really is.
However, during all that, it didn’t appear as though Pacquiao was all that inspired by his words as he was seen answering his phone and talking as Mayweather wrapped up his speech and returned to his chair.
Whether or not it was a mind-game from the Filipino is unclear, but he was in confident mood all day as he told CBS that he can “easily beat the undefeated” while revealing that his foe’s previous fights have put him to sleep.
Pacquiao will look to attack Mayweather and consistently press him in order to get success in the fight, and this may well be a strategy to try and get the unbeaten American to come out of his shell and fight fire with fire.
However, given his success over the years with his defensive style and ability to figure his opponents out almost instantly when they get in the ring, Pacquiao may well be wasting his breath.
