Justin O’Niel preveiews the 2013 season for the Storm.
Claiming the premiership for the 2012 season and only missing out on the minor premiership by 2 points behind the Canterbury Bulldogs, it would be hard to find something that went wrong for the Storm.
If the premiership wasn’t enough, the Storm went on to beat Leeds in the notoriously difficult World Cup Challenge earlier this year.
The Melbourne side have been labelled the benchmark team of the NRL for years and they deserve the title until the watchful gaze of coach Craig Bellamy. The Storm are in a strong position to be the first team in NRL history to defend a premiership title.
Bellamy will welcome back Brett Finch from Super League alongside the famous trio of Billy Slater, Cameron Smith and Cooper Cronk. Combined with the Storm’s impressive home ground record all but guarantees a final four finish and a home final.
