Grizzlies point guard Mike Conley, who had already been playing through pain with a foot injury, was hit square in the eye by Blazers shooting guard C.J. McCollum’s elbow during the third quarter.
Here is the video of this brutal hit to Conley’s eye.
He left the game after this brutal injury and has not been seen on the court since. It remains to be seen how serious Conley’s injury is, but him being out would affect the Grizzlies offense negatively.
The Grizzlies do not have a point guard who can replace Conley efficiently, and their offense already leaves plenty to be desired.
If the Grizzlies advance, they will have to face the Golden State Warriors, who possess the league’s best offense with point guard Stephen Curry playing out of his mind.
