Miami bounce back immediately to seal place as top seed in East.
Having seen their 27-game winning streak ended by the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday night, the Miami Heat took no time at all to bounce back with a dominating 108-89 win over the New Orleans Hornets.
LeBron James had 28 points in the first-half on his way to a game-high 36 points to lead the Heat, shooting 65% from the field as well as adding six assists and four rebounds.
As a result, the Heat clinched the No.1 seed for the Eastern Conference as they moved their record to 57-15 for the season.
For the Hornets, Ryan Anderson had 20 points while Anthony Davis added 11 points and five rebounds but they were thoroughly outclassed by their superior opponents.
Miami now travel to San Antonio to take on the Spurs in what could be a preview of this year’s NBA Finals, while the Hornets host the Cleveland Cavaliers on the same night.
