Short-handed Heat still too good for the Bobcats.
The Miami Heat sealed an 89-79 win over the Charlotte Bobcats on Friday night, and did so without LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Ray Allen.
While Miami sit at the top of the Eastern Conference with a 59-16 record for the season, the Bobcats have had a real struggle this year as they remain rooted to the bottom of the standings.
It was the veteran bench that made the difference for Miami coach Erik Spoelstra, with Mike Miller leading the way with a season-high 26 points.
Chris Bosh added 18 points and Rashard Lewis had 14, as Miami heated up from beyond the arc, knocking down 13 three-pointers on the night.
Michael Kidd-Gilchrist led the Bobcats with 18 points and 14 rebounds, but it wasn’t enough to help avoid his team slipping to 18-58 for the season.
The Heat face the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday night as they continue to rest their key players in light of troublesome injuries, while the Bobcats head to Brooklyn to take on the Nets.
