Bulls snap Miami’s 27-game winning streak.
The winning streak is over. The Chicago Bulls finally ended the Miami Heat’s impressive run, with a 101-97 win at the United Center on Wednesday night.
Derrick Rose remained on the sidelines, while Joakim Noah, Mario Belinelli and Rip Hamilton were all absent through various injuries.
But that didn’t stop the Bulls sealing their second win in three games against the Heat this season with Luol Deng leading the way with 28 points and seven rebounds.
Deng was well supported by Carlos Boozer who finished with 21 points and 17 rebounds, while the rest of the roster played a key role in bullying Miami with a physical game.
LeBron James had 32 points on the night, but unlike on so many previous occasions he could not will his team to victory despite coming from behind to close the gap.
The win will be a huge boost for Chicago, who now head to Dallas to take on the Mavericks on Saturday. For the Heat, the pressure of the winning streak is off, and they take on the New Orleans Hornets aiming to finish the regular season strong.
