The Heat rally to cut 17-point deficit and seal win against the Celtics.
It was the game that many had circled in the Miami Heat’s schedule that had the most potential to end their winning streak. Yet despite trailing by 17 points at one stage, they still came back and sealed the win.
LeBron James had 37 points and 12 assists as the Heat overcame the Boston Celtics 105-103 to secure their 23rd consecutive win on Monday night, the second longest run in NBA history.
The win came despite a huge game from Celtics forward Jeff Green who finished with 43 points, but Boston were ultimately undone as Miami’s MVP hit a game-winning jump shot with 10 seconds remaining.
The Celtics failed to score in their final possession allowing the Heat to escape with the win, and thanks to LeBron taking over in the final six minutes Miami overturned a seven point deficit and closed out with a 13-4 run.
Erik Spoelstra’s men now travel to Cleveland on Wednesday to take on the Cavaliers looking to make it 24, while the Celtics face the New Orleans Hornets.
