James and Wade save the day to extend the Heat’s winning streak to 16.
The Miami Heat extended their franchise-record winning streak to 16 on Wednesday night, with a 97-96 win over the Orlando Magic at the AA Arena.
The Heat nearly blew a 20-point second-half lead after Nikola Vucevic hit 25 points and had 21 rebounds, his second double-double against Miami this season.
However, with just three seconds left in the game, LeBron James dropped in a crucial lay-up to seal the win.
‘King James’ finished with 26 points on the night, while Miami’s other star, Dwyane Wade, had 24 points and a huge block in the build-up to James’ game-winning shot.
The latest win takes the Heat’s home record to 27-3 as they continue to dominate the Eastern Conference standings despite their scare on Wednesday.
They welcome Doug Collins and the Philadelphia 76ers to Miami on Friday looking to further extend their record run, while the Magic take on the Indiana Pacers.
