Brit gets the points decision against long-time bitter rival.
It may not have been his most dominant victory his long career, Michael Bisping did what he needed to do to get the victory against Alan Belcher at UFC 159.
For weeks the pair had been trading verbal barbs, often producing videos to mock the other person’s skills and personality.
But when the cage door closed, it was Bisping who was the busier of the two as he used his superior boxing skills to score points with the judges.
Despite many predicting the British fighter would look to take Belcher down and out of his comfort zone, most of the fight stayed standing.
The result went to the judges 18 seconds before the end of the third round, after Belcher copped a finger in the eye which left it bloodied.
However, it did not matter as Bisping earned an important victory 30-27, 30-27, 29-28, to keep himself relevant in the middleweight division.
