They most recently staged an incredible comeback against No. 3 seed Oklahoma and defeated them, 62-58. The Sooners appeared to have a comfortable lead in the first half as they were up by 10 points in the beginning.
The Spartans proved that they should never be counted out in the tournament though, and their student population was clearly fired up about their victory as they were seen celebrating hard.
This eventually got out of hand as three people were arrested for disorderly conduct and standing within 300 feet of an open fire. It’s unknown whether any of them were Michigan State students.
Glass bottles were thrown in the air while items such as shoes and newspapers were set on fire, but the police arrived in time to intervene, which was enough for the crowd to leave the scene.
