Gophers get the upset as teams get ready for the playoff season in college basketball.
The number one ranking team in the college basketball season has lost so many times I’ve lost count.
That number rose again Tuesday night after Indiana were stunned to a defeat by Big Ten rival Minnesota, as it seems inevitable that the Hoosiers will lose their top ranking.
Coming into this game, Indiana had lost just once in their last ten, and boasting a record of 24-3. However they were well beaten by a resilient Minnesota team who did the basics well and fully deserved the win.
This is the third time Indiana have lost this season when ranked the top team in the nation, which could suggest the added nerves of that accolade puts the team under more pressure when going into games.
March Madness get’s underway very soon, and the Hoosiers must be able to find a way to consistently win games and dominate, if they want to be playing for the national title at the end of the month.
