Honours even as Impact denied the win by the offside flag.
Montreal Impact were left upset with a decision to rule a perfectly good Marco DI Vaio goal offside, as the game ended in a one all draw.
Mid-way through the second half, Di Vaio slotted home from 12 yards away, only for the lineman to rule him offside, where replays showed Di Vaio was clearly level with the last man.
However the front man made up for the poor decision by thundering home a ow effort from 30 yards away to give the team a deserved lead with 20 minutes remaining.
Two minutes later and the game was all square once more, as Crew striker Dominic Oduro produced a fine finish to get Columbus back on level terms on 71 minutes.
Montreal remain at the top of the Eastern Division, and are becoming strong favourites for the Eastern Division title.
