It’s the first time Dynamo have conceded more than three goals this season.
Montreal Impact produced one of their best performances of the season as they trounced Houston Dynamo 5-0 at Stade Saputo.
It keeps Impact at the top of the Eastern Conference, ahead of Sporting Kansas City and the New York Red Bulls, but they had to wait until the 35th minute to break the deadlock and when they did it was spectacular.
Justin Mapp fed the ball to Marco Di Vaio and the Italian showed great feet to skip past a Dynamo defender and rattle home his first of the night. And it was two in quick succession as Mapp orchestrated again, lofting a delicious pass to Felipe who steadied and finished emphatically.
The visitors’ defence continued to crumble after the break and Jeb Brovsky bundled home the third from Hernan Bernardello’s in-swinging corner that wasn’t cleared. Di Vaio then notched his 15th goal of the season, tapping in from Patrice Bernier’s lay-off in the 70th minute, before Pisanu stabbed home to complete the rout.
