Ground in Brasilia may now not be ready to host Confederations Cup opener.
Fifa has been hit by yet another stadium delay in Brazil ahead of the staging of next summer’s World Cup finals in the South American country.
The Mane Garrincha National Stadium in Brasilia, which football’s world governing body had earmarked to kick off this summer’s Confederations Cup, will not now be finished by the scheduled date of April 21.
Instead, those in charge of ensuring that the ground will be ready in time to host the Brazil versus Japan match on June 15th say that the venue will be fit for use by May 18th.
