Lyon took a big step forward in their quest for Champions League football.
Lyon look more comfortable in the third Champions League spot in Ligue 1 after a solid 0-3 victory over struggling Nancy.
Substitute Bafetimbi Gomis came off the bench in the second half to bag a brace, with his goals coming either side of a strike from Yoann Gourcuff.
The home side had some chances in the first half, but the inspired switch of Lissandro Lopez for Gomis during the break immediately paid dividends when the striker score on 48 minutes.
Gourcuff made it two on the 79th minute before Gomis confirmed the result late on.
It’s Lyon’s third win in four matches and leaves them looking like favourites for Champions League qualification, whilst in contrast Nancy are left just a point above the drop-zone after this defeat.
