Nancy relegated after home defeat to Bastia.
Nancy were relegated from Ligue 1 after they were unable to secure all three points, in a game that nothing less than a win would see them out of the league.
Ilan gave the away side the lead at the start of the second half, but Nancy grabbed a leveler Puygrenier on 60 minutes.
However, they were able to convert any more chances, and were left to rue those misses Modeste put Bastia back on top with 15 minutes to go.
Nancy will be left wondering what could have been, as they must face at least a season outside of France’s top flight.
