Bellew-Cleverly 2 set for November 22: Pair set to fight in Liverpool.
Nathan Cleverly and Tony Bellew went head-to-head in the first of two press conferences on Wednesday ahead of their bout on November 22 at the Echo Arena.
While the promotional tour for the fight will move on to Cardiff on Wednesday evening, the pair were asked to square off for the cameras and a tense face off ensued with both men engaging in conversation.
Given their history, there is genuine bad blood between Bellew and Cleverly, with the former feeling disrespected by the Welshman’s reaction to their initial bout in 2011.
Bellew has publicly stated that he wants to knock his opponent out on November 22, while Cleverly is adamant that it will be Bellew who won’t hear the final bell.
Which ever way the fight goes, it promises to be a huge night for boxing as promoter Eddie Hearn also announced on Wednesday that the likes of James DeGale, Callum Smith and Anthony Joshua will feature on the bill.
Nevertheless, the main event promises to be explosive and it remains to be seen whether or not the pair are able to keep their tempers in check for the rest of the pre-fight build up…
