Nathan Cleverly will face Tony Bellew at the Echo Arena in Liverpool on November 22, and the pair were put together on a two-leg tour to both Liverpool and Cardiff on Wednesday.
After a relatively quiet press conference in Liverpool in the afternoon in which Cleverly didn’t face too much abuse, Bellew undoubtedly had the tougher crowd in the evening.
With the Welshman undoubtedly a lot more comfortable and vocal in front of his home crowd, Bellew also had to deal with outspoken fans but laughed it all off well.
Nevertheless, the jokes will be over on November 22 when the rivals enter the ring for a second time, with Bellew looking to avenge his loss back in 2011.
Both men have now moved up to the cruiserweight division with the Merseysider insisting that he is much happier making the weight, while Cleverly claims he spent months after his knockout loss to Sergey Kovalev [at light-heavyweight] in the gym getting his body prepared for the change in division.
Bellew was keen to pick apart his opponent’s claims again and refused to lose control of his temperament when asked to stand up and stare his rival down, and it all promises to be an explosive build up to the fight over the next seven weeks.
