Bellew warns Cleverly: ‘Bomber’ ready to end rivalry with knockout win.
Nathan Cleverly will face Tony Bellew at the Echo Arena in Liverpool on November 22, and the pair were put together on a two-leg tour to both Liverpool and Cardiff on Wednesday.
Following on from that infamous press conference back in 2011 ahead of their scheduled bout at the O2 in London, many expected there to be fireworks this time round, but both men restricted themselves to verbals rather than get physical.
Bellew will be looking for revenge after his defeat in the first meeting, while Cleverly is confident that he will make it 2-0 when he heads to Liverpool for a second time to face his bitter rival.
Nevertheless, aside from both men promising to knock the other out, Bellew was in great form in his hometown and continued to mock the Welshman in order to get a reaction out of him.
While things did risk boiling over as they faced off alongside promoter Eddie Hearn, they continued to merely exchange words and were largely professional in their approach.
The same will not be said when they step in the ring on November 22, and with a significant undercard on show too, Hearn will hope that the decision to make it a Sky Box Office fight will produce dividends.
The Matchroom promoter faced heavy criticism for it on Wednesday afternoon from fans on Twitter, but with the likes of James DeGale, Callum Smith and Anthony Joshua all in action, it promises to be another fantastic night for British boxing.
