NBA Sunday a quiet affair with Super Bowl dominating TVs…
The New York Knicks sealed a comfortable win over the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday with Carmelo Anthony leading the way at Madison Square Garden.
With just two games on the NBA schedule, it was down to the Knicks and Lakers to put on a show with the Super Bowl grabbing attention across the world.
Both teams have struggled mightily this season but Anthony stole the show with 31 points and eight rebounds to ensure that the hosts secured the win and improve to 10-38 for the season.
Carlos Boozer responded with 19 points and 10 rebounds for the visitors, but it wasn’t enough to prevent a 10th loss in 11 games as they continue to slump with Kobe Bryant ruled out for the season.
Earlier in the day, Hassan Whiteside put on another show for the Miami Heat as he put up 20 points, nine rebounds and three blocks in a win over the Boston Celtics.
Chris Bosh added 18 points as the Heat overcame the absences of Dwyane Wade and Luol Deng as Miami improve to 21-26 for the season and continue to push to ensure that they seal a spot in the playoffs.
NBA Results
Miami Heat 83-75 Boston Celtics
